If you want a position,
you have to take it.

We help businesses find the idea that makes them unmistakably themselves. Then bring it to life through their story, identity and behaviour.

Senior strategic thinking, with a healthy disregard for the obvious.

What is a superposition?

The position only you can take.

Your superposition is the unique position only you can take in your market. Most businesses are pulled towards the same safe language, borrowed conventions and positions without an opinion. We help you decide what you believe, take a position and make it visible. Tell one clear, compelling story, and you collapse into a category of one.

Many possibilities.
One clearer position.
01 / The problem

Lost in
the middle.

Trying to compete with everyone, businesses start to sound like everyone else.

What makes them different disappears. Customers struggle to see a reason to choose them, and the conversation comes down to price.

02 / The discovery

Find what’s
already yours.

What you used to stay safe may be slowly suffocating what made you interesting. We excavate what is already true: what you stand for, what you do differently, the problem you are particularly equipped to solve, and the opinion your competitors would never hold.

Through conversations inside the business and with customers, we interrogate you, your market and the people you serve. Then we draw a clear picture of where everyone stands—and find the position only you can take.

A category
of one.

A clear story. A distinctive identity. A business that behaves in line with what it believes.

You’re no longer fighting everyone else for the same space. You’ve found a position only you can own.

Case studyKandor

Disrupting workplace
wellbeing.

Kandor—previously Body Corporate—had an extremely compelling offer. But its most powerful ideas were hidden behind language designed to sound like the companies it thought it had to compete with.

Our first job was to show the team that what made them different—and uncomfortable—was exactly what could make them matter. Instead of merely surviving the category, could they become the change they believed it needed?

At its heart were honest conversations, the instinct to look after your own, and a sharp commercial truth: most workplace wellbeing spend is directed without first understanding what individual employees actually need. Kandor helps businesses see those specific, nuanced challenges and invest in interventions that can genuinely make a difference.

A new name, story and identity challenged the category’s fixation on perks. Kandor now stands for real progress, with values and principles that changed how the business spoke, behaved and was perceived by investors and its market.

Case studyPeople’s Partnership

Standing up
for everyone.

People’s Partnership stood for something different. But its language could have belonged to almost any competitor. A business with a powerful reason to stand apart was caught in the middle of its market.

Across a four-to-six-month project, SUPERPOSITION worked alongside Stratinn to uncover what made the organisation different. Research with internal teams, customers and the public helped us understand the gap between what the business stood for and how it was understood.

We helped the team recognise, sharpen and champion its rebellious instinct: standing up for everyone. By challenging familiar thinking and encouraging a bolder approach, we developed a clear proposition, a messaging hierarchy and internal guidance that helped people across the business understand the new position and talk about it with confidence.

That strategic work was then handed over to Bountiful Cow, who carried the energy into People’s Pension’s first-ever TV campaign. Starring Joe Wilkinson, Famously Fair brings that belief to a national audience: pensions should work fairly for everyone.

The SUPERPOSITION system

Four disciplines.
One position.

When each area is understood clearly, four different energies resolve into one cohesive central identity—one that is extremely difficult for competitors to imitate or compete with.

Story is the organising logic that joins the system.
